2 Down….
So we have finished the montreal and toronto events. Montreal being the first event was a little rougher then I'd like (usual issues with first shows) but all the bumps were smoothed out for the toronto show. For both events we had around 200 people with a near dead even number of max and maya users. In Montreal there were a couple more max users and in Toronto a few more maya users. All in all some very good energy in the crowd. As always the drinks and snacks afterward is also nice. Its good to meet people and find out what they do with the software. One of the things I'm always interested in is the oddest usages. I had one person a few years back tell me they used 3ds Max spotlights and falloff materials to calculate the optimum number and positioning of sprayers for spraying chrome plating on objects. If that isn't novel I don't know what is. If you have odd uses let me know, I'd like to hear about it.
As I type I am sitting at the Hudson hotel in Manhattan preparing to see some clients and of course we have the New York max/maya roadshow tomorrow evening. Hope to see you there. I'm waiting to see which city takes the attendance record. Its usually Montreal or Toronto. For once I'd like to see a US city make the top.
