Because my last job didn’t keep me busy enough

Category: The Area
So here is the big news (for me at least). I have moved to a new position in the company. I now manage video production, client relations and...wait for it... The AREA.
Before I get an avalanche of requests for changes and improvements to the AREA I'd just like to say I'm very familiar with the most common criticisms as well as some of the less common. I also agree and have complained about a large number of them myself. So this is my punishment ;-) My job is to figure out how to improve the AREA and make it continuously more valuable to artists as time goes on. I'm not going to comment on what will change as I'm still getting the lay of the land and figuring out what was already done what projects are in the hopper. I have a number of ideas that I know as a 3d artist, I wish we had on the AREA and some that no one else has. keep an eye out here for updates as I move forward.
I'd like to thank JoAnne Gaudreau for all the work (not to mention political hoops) she went through getting the AREA up and running. Now its my job to take it to the next stage or be turned into a quivering mass of goo trying.

Congratulations on the new job, Shawn! I'm looking forward to seeing what changes are in the works. Does this mean you're not going to be out and about as much as you used to be?

Hey Shawn,

I am a Seneca College Grad from Illustration Technical. Glad to hear you have continued to do well. Its been interesting to see you give demos and see you pop up more and more in the discre...autodesk videos. Hopefully your heir will do as good a job.

As for the Area its all about volume. Catching up to sites like Highend3D.com for scripts would be amazing. Adding some real top notch tutorials from the Gnomon crew or the crew at Steambot Studios would be simply amazing.

PS When will Autodesk buy Zbrush/Mudbox?
