Due to the similarities between the two products (Max & Viz) you will find many Viz questions being asked in the main Max forums (Modeling, Rendering etc). Perhaps this one was intended for just those areas where the two products are different.

Due to those forums being neither product or version specific, it really helps if the product and version are referenced in any posts (or put it in your sigs like the old WebBoard required us to do).

Max 4.2 through 2009 (SP1), XP-Pro 64 SP2.
NVidia 8800GTX-768 (Driver 175.16).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 4Gb Ram, 4Gb Swap, DX9.0c.
Area IRC Nick is “Screwball”.

There was a comfort-factor that I experienced every time I would visit the old discussion forum.  I discovered time and time again that I was not alone with my question, issue, concern, problem, etc. There were others.  That was always comforting. No different today as I went to the old discussion group clicked on Autodesk VIZ discussion group, landed here and assumed I’d clicked the wrong link.  Rather than a series of tightly packed single line questions pertaining to each listing we have questions heralded as if they are chapter headings.  It was comforting to read that others had landed here as well and that they too had found the change disconcerting and noticed the shortage of questions/answers.

I want to thank the previous reply for the google suggestion.  At least today I found the answer to my question.

Have others found their previous “member name” and “password” not valid for logging into this discussion group?
