I’m using 3ds Max 2008 and am a beginner.

OK, people I really, REALLY need help with this one! Can anybody tell me how to make the leaves, maybe with the hair and fur modifier or...something. pls

a method: read up on “scatter modifier” is able to scatter certain “objects” on a surface in ways you can determine yourself and afterwards apply a cutout map on the scattered objects (the leaf itself)

But is there a better way to make the leaves like on the last image in the tutorial I linked to?
With this technique i have to make the branches very dense in order to get the leaves as dense as they are on that image.
