Max 2008 on install asked 32 bit or 64 bit.  I am running XP 32.  My Alienware has not delivered with mental ray as I had invisioned.  So I am looking at new systems. On top of that the Autodesk road show left more questions than answers.  I will need to upgrade both Max and Combustion.  The solution may be to go to Maya and Toxit and on a 64 bit system.  I do animation and not stills so there is a need for better quality frames.  As well as a new stratigium over what Max Design offers. Combustion only added the Diamond Color Corrector.  Any comments, suggestions.  HD is here.
