YEA!!!!! Did it, I made my grass. Now however I noticed that the 3 origanal blades I made off of the terrrain that were used to call forth the blades ON the terrain I can not get rid of, if I deleit them than, yep, you probibly guessed it, they dissapier from the terrain. I am probibly going to go a head and see if I can just put them up ON the terrain, that way there are not way out of the way like that .
NOW, I just need to figure out how to export it to smd, and THAN figure out what to do with the smd so that I can use it in HL2. AND THAN MY FRIENDS!!!!!! OH YES!!!! ITS ON!!!!!......smile
SO, I have come one step closer to my goal, but still have what seems to me 1,000 more to go.

OK, i lied just a wee little bit. I can not figure out how to add the material he is tlkaing aobut in the last step, he wrote it a little confusing. I also tried to put a bitmap on there , but I must have done something wrong, cause it would not work.
I sved a pic on my desktop from google, and saved it AS a BITMAP file, but when I went to go and drag and drop after putting it into the materials thing, it would not drop, I could drag it, but it would not drop.
All I got was a little circle with a line through it, I suspect that is not normal.

* “Cone01”

Now I dont kow if ANYONE can tell me what I did wrong, seems to be a mesh problim, but how to fix it......I dont know.
If ANYONE can help, I would be thankful. Adn if ther eis anyone who knows how to do wqhat I am doing, if you would like to see my madel in its .max form, I could e-mail it.

OK, I said I would not post agian unless I KNEW I had F***ED something up????
Well everyone, I think I may have. I DID however get the qc file doen righ, only for a simple model HOWEVER, when I go into GUIStudioMDL, which takes that qc file and makes what I want out of it, I get this..............

Loaded QC file - “C:\Documents and Settings\Monte\Desktop\SMD\GreenGrass.qc”

Created command line: “C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\sire_shivles\sourcesdk\bin\ep1\bin\studiomdl.exe” -game “c:\program files\steam\steamapps\SourceMods\bg2” -notxbox “C:\Documents and Settings\Monte\Desktop\SMD\GreenGrass.qc”

qdir:  “c:\documents and settings\monte\desktop\smd\”
gamedir: “c:\program files\steam\steamapps\SourceMods\bg2\”
g_path:  “GreenGrass”
Working on “GreenGrass.qc”
SMD MODEL GreenGrass.smd
WARNING: Bad collision model, check your smoothing groups!!!
WARNING: Truncating model!!!!
WARNING: GreenGrass.smd has bad smoothing groups
Model has 1 convex sub-parts
Collision model completed.

Now that is nto the whole thing, if anyone wants to see the whole things, I will post it, but seeing as to how it seems NOONE models for HL2 with this program, or possibly gos to another forum, I dont think I will get much of a usefull responce. It deos compile everything, however when I go into the model viewer, all I get is a flat plane that is purple checker board, which USEUALLY means missing textures, but I dont know WHY. I also see NO grass at ALL.
HELP.

Can’t tell for others but I know zilch about exporting to HL2. Sorry.
Like I said, you’re more likely to get an answer on a dedicated site. Try a google search.
