Typically Autodesk doesn’t offer permanent student licenses.  Hopefully you won’t be a student permanently, right?  Also, since new releases come out every year or two, and since Autodesk wants you to learn the latest release, student licenses typically don’t last longer than a year or two.

The huge discount you get helps you learn, before you earn an income.  When you graduate and get a job, and want to use products for commercial work, then you pay the same price as the rest of us do.
