What are Autodesk® MasterClasses?
Autodesk MasterClasses are 90-minute seminars aimed at the intermediate to advanced user of Autodesk software. The MasterClass sessions are presented by a wide variety of industry experts and are based on their tried and tested production techniques. MasterClass presenters hail from some of the top production facilities from around the globe and have worked on some of the hottest films, video games and broadcast animations ever created. Don't miss your chance to learn directly from the experts with Autodesk MasterClasses.
Are there perquisites, age restrictions? Who can attend?
Autodesk MasterClasses are aimed at the intermediate to advanced user of our software, whether student or professional. If you've been using our products for at least six months and are very familiar with the software UI, major tools and functionality you should benefit greatly from the sessions. If you are just getting started with Autodesk software, these classes may prove somewhat overwhelming. There is no age restriction but these classes are not aimed at the beginner, but the intermediate/advanced level and pertain to one aspect of the application.
Do I get a certificate for completing the program?
Autodesk MasterClasses are lecture-style sessions on a wide variety of topics. This training is presented by industry experts, based on the production techniques they've learned through their years in the industry. No certification is granted for attendance to the Autodesk MasterClasses.
How to I obtain notes and data files for the session I attend?
Beginning with the 2007 SIGGRAPH MasterClasses, all session notes and data files for all MasterClasses will be available via ftp download 1 week after the sessions. This makes it very important that we have email information for all attendees to all sessions as the link to the notes and the password to download them will be sent out after the event concludes.
Why did Autodesk stop putting notes and data on DVDs?
The reason for this change is two fold:
How do I ensure Autodesk has my email information for access to notes?
Online Purchases:
When purchasing tickets online be sure to include the email address of the attendee in the mandatory field. If the purchaser is not the attendee, please make them aware of the importance of this email address.
Onsite Purchases:
If tickets are purchased on-site, be sure to provide your email address and contact information to the registration desk before walking away with your tickets.
What is the Bonus session?
The Bonus session is a specific session in the agenda that eligible attendees may attend free. The bonus session is not an extra ticket to be used however you like. For example, if you purchase a 15 session bundle you will get access for one person to the specified bonus session.
Bonus sessions are labeled like the following in the agenda: 'Bonus: <session title>'
How do I purchase tickets?
Individuals & companies in the US, Canada, Europe or Asia may purchase tickets online with a valid credit card through our online ticketing service, called Ticketweb. If you have any troubles on Ticketweb, then please contact their customer service at 1.866.777.8932. or, contact me.training.events@autodesk.
Can I purchase tickets at the door?
You may purchase at the registration desk, with credit card only. Single tickets are sold at the door only and not in advance.
How about if someone else orders the tickets, but I am the attendee
If the attendee is NOT the person who ordered the tickets online, then you will NOT appear on the attendee list, but the name of the purchaser will unless the attendee name is provided. The purchaser will be prompted to provide the attendee name and email in the registration process. This is the name used for ticket pick-up at the registration desk, and for the email with the ftp note download. If there is more than one attendee, you are requested to only include the one person picking up the tickets and distributing the notes for the group.
Where do I pick up my MasterClass tickets and my T-shirt, if applicable?
All tickets and MasterClass kits will be available for pick-up at the registration desk located outside the MasterClasses. Please present a copy of the Ticketweb receipt when picking up your tickets. Have photo ID prepared.
I want to buy a bundle, how can I tell Autodesk which classes I want to attend?
You don't have to! Just arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of the session you wish to attend, present your ticket at the door, and choose your seat.
I've purchased a bundle; can I share my tickets with colleagues/friends?
Each ticket within a bundle means one person may attend one class. You may opt to distribute and share your tickets in the manner that best suits your team's learning needs. Attend one session with several colleagues, or split the tickets amongst your team to use as they wish. You should note that only one bonus Class kit or MasterClass kit is provided with each bundle regardless of how many individuals will be sharing the tickets.
Does attending SIGGRAPH or other events give access to MasterClasses?
Attending SIGGRAPH or other events where MasterClasses are held, does not automatically include the MasterClass sessions. Tickets to the MasterClasses would have to be purchased separately and take place at the specified location. Passes to attend SIGGRAPH are separate and must be purchased through www.siggraph.org
How does the ticket bundling work?
Let's say you want to attend three Maya classes and two 3ds Max classes, then you are the perfect candidate for the 5 Class Bundle. You get 5 single generic tickets that can be used (one ticket per class) for entry to those five classes. OR You and your 4 friends would like to attend one MasterClass that you would all benefit from. Then one of you would purchase a 5-ticket bundle, each one of you can attend that class.
What is the company pass?
A Company Pass is available for companies who are sending multiple employees - this package includes the 40 tickets that can be split among employees and used at any session. Bonus session access for any member of your staff is included.
What is the conference pass?
A Conference Pass includes access to any session presented over the week and is non-transferable and can only be used by one individual.
What if the session is two sessions long?
From time to time we may have classes that are double, in length and content. This means that you will need two tickets. The class will be split into to two 1.5hour sessions with a half hour break in between. To re-enter the second half, you will need to use another ticket.
What sizes are the T-shirts?
If the bundle you purchase includes a T-Shirt. There will be female and male version in sizes small, medium, large and extra large. We sell them as well at the show on their own for $25 US.
What is the MasterClass event?
The MasterClass event is an invitation only, open bar event. Attendees of the event include MasterClass presenters, attendees who purchased the appropriate bundle, and select Autodesk personnel.
When will I receive the invitation to the MasterClass Event?
If the bundle you purchased includes an invitation to the MasterClass event, you will receive the details via email within a few weeks of the event. This event is by invitation only - if you do not receive your invitation via email contact me.training.events@autodesk.
