I began using Maya about a year and a half ago, and I was using Alias' Maya 7.5 PLE, but didn't seriously start using it until about a year ago, when I got Maya 8.5 PLE. I am still saving up for Maya 2008 complete, but I still have a while.

The hands of your robots are to small. They are not really worked out and do not give an impression, that they could be used to grab something. It also looks like a toy, as it is made of one piece per body part.

An advanced underständing of material can help you to give your models a more realistic look.

Though your models are pure fiction, they should follow the same laws of structures as real objects. No object is made of one piece.

    Kind regards
    Arnim

I used Physical ss in most of those because that was all I knew how to do.
And if you have a better way of making the sky in that cloud scene, please tell me.
