I setup the materials, lighting, and composition using 3dsmax & mental ray. The environment is a spherical HDR from Dosch.
Driver Car Benz Mecrolan show of map environment load.
Jeff dont listen you are a Render God!
All your work is awsome, You are the man, Keep rendering!
I love My mental ray, you are a mental ray master , better than any gnomon, or digital tutor stuff, better than the Mill!
Keep it up, great comp
Comment: I luv it, no remarks, it’s just nice. The positioning is good, the texturing, lighting… all good.
Q: when you say the environment is an HDR, are we talking about the environment map you used for ighting the scene or are we talking about the actual environment you used to position the car in?
I’ve been over you blog some, reading up on the color-bleeding, interesting btw, but do you have a workflow posted somewhere I could read up on (espeacially putting models in an environment within max itself? (not photoshopping) - camera per pixel or something?)
again, nice work on the rendering, I wouldn’t even bother with “opinion-comments” every person capable of thinking with a bit of criticism can filter out the bad and better posts
greets, Boom.
@ Syndicate5 - LOL, if you stopped reading when you saw I used a free model from Evermotion, then obviously you wouldn’t have wasted your time adding a comment. Rather, I should say opinion because there’s really that’s all it is. There’s nothing constructive about it...sounds more so like you came here to blow off some steam.
We all have opinions, most of the time it’s best to keep them to ourselves....which is what I’m going to do at this point.
As it said in the description lonboarder1, the model came from Evermotion.org. No reason to post the wireframe. When I read that someone has bought a model from someone else, I stop reading, because after that I am not interested. I believe in building EVERYTHING in your scene yourself. I dont even like the thought of buying models of fruit for the bowls in a kitchen scene. I think thats cutting corners and cheating. I dont understand why this artist posted this scene here. What, to get kudos for spending all his time on setting up lighting and materials? Thats 1/8 the battle.
Lets see more of the car next time, and a wireframe (If possible)
Great looking though!
