I"m Ravihara Weerathunge from Sri Lanka and I was born in 1990. My Interest in 3D Started at a very early age, after Playing 3D games on a friend"s computer. Years later at the age of 12 and with my own personal computer, I installed 3dsMax version 4.1. I had little hope that it would run on my computer, for it was just a Pentium II 266Ghz machine with 64MB ram and 2MB on board VGA, but to my amazment it did. I decided then and there that I must learn this software. As a student of a developing country, at that time, I had no knowledge sources like Internet or written material regarding the subject. So I self studied the software and created my basic foundation on 3D design. At that time, I was given the chance to do a Short animation Introduction for my School, Dharmaraja College, Kandy, for a function called English Day ,where I created an fully animated Introduction, using 3dsMax. After that project, I participated in a school animation competition, held for Science Day; where I grabbed the attention of most students and teachers of the school by creating a short animated movie with a fellow student. After that animation was screened publicly, I became the official 3D animator of the school, creating over 14 Introduction animations for different school functions (only a few are uploaded). At that time, I also participated in an animation competition organized by a local television station, where I was selected for the final round and was offered a job opportunity as a 3D Animation artist. I refused this offer because of my A/L exams, and after finishing this in the Science stream, I entered the University of Colombo, School of Computing as an external student. There I created another well received animation Final Countdown- A video remake. After completing my courses at Colombo, I have entered the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine. Since then, I am working toward completing my HND in Interactive Media as a Edexcel student, with Distinction grades for 3D work done for subjects 3D Modeling and Animation and Historical and Contextual referencing. As I always love to see what I have created in movement, I have more motion work than still renders.
