thanks for the comments, I think it may be the foreshortening caused by the camera angle but will have another look at the model. Caliban - I did model the whole skeleton but concentrated on texturing the skull so just posted this.

Id welcome any suggestions about the shaders for bone at the moment its a MR Simple shader with the sss turned down quite low

Perhaps you should make the whole skeleton....a fossile or something like that...nice job anyway.

nice work with the texturing, the 2 canine teeth look a bit weird tho, but I think it could be due to the camera angle.
