I am looking for some advice on how to improve this. I think it turned out OK, but it's lacking something.

the fire reflection on the floor seems to b a daylight from a glass door which is killing the other lights and the romantic ambience of the scene.

Hi Glorybound,
1st of all nice try, If u asking for suggestion, kindly check out following steps.
Your scene dominent light comming from Fireplace. there r also other lights in ur scene but they look just self illuminent object(Not behave like Light property) Try to decrease Influence of chimney light & give a chance to all light in your scene.Look floor fire reflection, its too long then actual exist there. Try to increase falloff of lights(Inverse Square). Hope these steps vill help u a bit to understand what u can do/retouch here.
