This is a city block I am designing for an animation. Fairly low poly at 250,000 tris for the whole neighborhood. Texturing and props to come next. I will update when finished:) Mental ray renders.

| by the way is it ok to use triangles with quads in between modeling or is it better to make it a practice to keep my work in quads at all times. unless modeling for games?

well the moment you achieve the required skills you are aiming for, to texture your masterpiece let me know.
I am currently working on Maya. And right now I am learning how to use photoshop to texture my work and better ways in playing around with UVs in Maya2011. so Far l love the way Maya 2011 handles uv than the older versions.

| The detail of this scene is incredible. I've not mastered texturing, but it would seem like that would be quite a chore in this case...

Not bad at all, are you making texture for the scene? If so don't forget to post.
Thanks for sharing your work!
