About SketchBook Pro 2009
SketchBook Pro 2009 was launched in April of this year, revitalizing a product that many loyal customers feared was going to disappear. Afterall, the previous release, version
2, came out over 2 years ago, before Autodesk's aquisition of Alias.
SBP 2009 is an important release for all the Mac-Intel and Vista users, but it is also a new start for the entire product.
As the name implies, SketchBook Pro is literally the digital interpretation of the classic sketchbook. Originally launched in conjunction with the introduction of the Tablet PC,
it has always been designed specifically for pen-based interaction. Featuring a streamlined user interface geared to maximizing "flow", the product boasts an environment where new
users can become productive within minutes.
Paired with the nimble UI is an equally robust engine. Brush responsiveness and line quality are essential for a natural drawing experience. SketchBook Pro's visual quality is
recognized by even discriminating traditonal artists.
"I've wanted to have an all digital process for many years. Scanning paper was a very troublesome process and the results with other drawing applications were not good enough. But
then I met SketchBook Pro and I needed neither the pencil nor paper. My wish was fulfilled." - SHERLOCK, Illustrator, Japan.
SketchBook Pro has carved out a unique place in the digital landscape. Unlike other paint and retouching tools, SketchBook Pro is dedicated to sketching. Whether it is part of a
Digital Prototyping solution for manufacturing, storyboarding a feature film, architectural conceptual design, virtual whiteboarding, or making illustrations for a graphic novel,
SketchBook Pro plays a complimentary role to virtually every digital process, regardless of industry.
