The 3ds Max plugin developer ecosystem is critical to the success of 3ds Max users, as it enables specialized workflows for demanding use cases. With hundreds of 3ds Max developers registered in the Autodesk Developer Network program, and many more outside the program, the developer community is very active.
 
In order to react faster to your needs, the 3ds Max team is releasing product updates more often, delivering new capabilities, improvements, and quality enhancement on a regular basis. As such, the collaboration between Autodesk and the 3ds Max third party developer community is more crucial than ever to provide the best experience for our mutual users.
 
We are excited to announce that about 20 third party plugin developers have worked hard, in close collaboration with the 3ds Max product team and the ADN team, to make their plugins available as early as possible following 3ds Max release. As a result, more than 150 plugins are planned to be released the same week as 3ds Max 2019.

The site was originally just a link collection with a news page, but when 3ds Max 9 came out, David Baker started contacting programmers who had written plugins for 3ds Max but had stopped updating them. Some of them gave the source code, and David started recompiling them for the latest versions of 3ds Max. At the last count he’s keeping about 170 plugins alive and up-to-date. David don't get paid for doing this, but there is a donate button on the site for people who want to show their gratitude.
