I just wanted to take a minute to make a couple of announcements. Rather than me traveling to some conference or event as I usually do, this week the conference and event are coming to me. A week without travel... yay!

So for those of you that don't know, GDC Online (formerly known as Austin GDC) is happening this week. You can find out more about it here...

http://www.gdconline.com/

I'll be presenting a session on Maya 2011 at the conference, so if you're planning on attending the conference stop by and check it out...

Maya 2011 at GDC:  Ahead of the Game

(cheesy title... yes I know)

And Gary Davis, my friend and coworker will have a session on 3ds Max 2011 at the conference as well...

3ds Max 2011 at GDC:  An Out of Box Experience

We'll also have a booth on the show floor where we'll be talking to people about Maya, Max, Soft, MotionBuilder, Mudbox, etc...

On Thursday night Autodesk will be co-hosting a free event with Cinesys. We'll have food, drinks, demos and mingling, so definitely stop by if you're in Austin. See details below...

Date:   Thursday October 7th

And finally I am also participating in the Autodesk Digital Entertainment Conference on October 13th.  I'll be doing a session on the Maya 2011 Entertainment Creation Suite, showing workflows between Maya, Mudbox and MotionBuilder.

The Autodesk® Digital Entertainment Conference is coming to a desktop near you on October 13th. At this information-packed conference, you'll find out how Autodesk 2011 software opens the door to next generation Digital Entertainment Creation.

Sigh - and why was this not done at SigGraph?

Dear Stephen, We want to graduate from the Autodesk University but first of all we need to accumulate some experience in Maya. We would appreciate if you help us to solve the following problem: I try to compose a simple scene with fortification of several towers and a wall on a green terrain in Maya. When I try to animate it as soon as I click on the time slider the letter s to fix the first key, the wall disappears and I can find it far below the terrain in dissipated state. I tried to simplify the scene but effect was the same. What could be the reason and how I could avoid it? I want to bake this scene for further work in Toxik but I cannot overcome this problem. With admiration of what you have done. Alexi Danchev My address: adanchev@yahoo.com
