Interesting. I'm new to Max and Animation and need to understand UVW maps thoroughly. I've gone through the Help files and tutorials. Would you be able to point me to other good videos like this? Thanks, Richard

That was fantastic. Very useful. Thanks.

Excellent tutorial, extremely useful for someone coming back into 3D modelling/ texturing after a few years animating.

What was the reason for swiching this behavior? I believe the switch from mapchannel x -> y has always given the "reset" dialog for quite some time. Now it's not obvious and work could potentially be lost because of the assumption of a workflow that has been consistant for many years.

Wow, I just thought the Unwrap modifier had been broken since version 2008 when it came to editing UV channels other than 1. That's totally unintuitive and a terrible work flow. I can understand copying channel 1 if there is no data on the channel you're switching to, but once there is it should be left alone and not be overwritten again.

Thank you, that was excellent! That had been confusing me terribly for a long time. I never connected up the "reset" button with it switching to the selected map channel. Your tutorial cleared up a big problem for me, much appreciated.
