Here are 2 examples on how to project a road on a terrain, starting from a flat road and a bumpy terrain.

Project road using skin wrap

Tip on how to project a road on a terrain and keep its 3D thickness intact. First, you'll see how the conform compound object cannot succeed in this operation. Then, you'll see how to use the skin wrap modifier to keep the thickness of the road as it follows the terrain.

Using the morpher modifer

Tip on how to use the morpher modifier and the previous technique in order to use any terrain shape and match a 3D flat road on top of it.

Great!!! I knew that applying a poly/mesh to another is possible but had no idea how it would work. Thank you Louis!

Just what I needed. The videos are quite swift though. Is there a way to save a flash-in-an-explorer-window to a folder where I can then view it at NORMAL speed? Hey! Check that! The refresh/away-page (checked out other videos ...) and back-to-this-page brings tempered speed! Might have been because the sound was off ... Who knows? Yupp, sound was key! Dude, super tute!
