 A complex rig has been created to visually describe these behaviors to make it easier to understand how different attributes control the look of materials.
For the purpose of presentation, Arnold's new aiStandardSurface shader is used in this rig, however, the concept is valid to any shader and render engine.

This is a great visual representation of how different rays react to scattering of light and the way different surfaces also react to light that I've seen. Is there a way that we could have access to this scene file? It would be greatly appreciated and please make more presentations on this subject.
